WHAAA??? That's just too funny. That's all we need.

This is the problem I have with "comprehensive" reform.

How's about securing the border, THEN worrying about the rest. Passing stupid legislation that says, "we promise not to do ANYTHING else until we've secured the border...you should definitely believe us this time, even though we've never fulfilled that promise the last seven times we've said we were going to do it.

The same thing goes for when the subject of "comprehensive" budget reform, or "comprehensive" tax reform.

Why not look at the budget first, forgetting taxes, and find the areas where the Fed does not belong or programs that have produced nill or entire agencies that have gone WAY beyond the threshold of Federal responsibility. You could reduce the budget SIGNIFICANTLY, THEN take a look at the tax code.

Instead it's always, "let's look at who's not paying their 'fair share'--like rich dead people, for instance--so we can get this thing back to surplus."

Instead it’s always, “let’s look at who’s not paying their ‘fair share’–like rich dead people, for instance–so we can get this thing back to surplus.”

I also noticed the following comment buried at the bottom of the article:

"A new proposal floated on Thursday in an effort to deter the hiring of illegal immigrants would put biometric identifiers into Social Security cards."

Those geniuses have a solution for every problem.
