Here is a little known fact about Sarah Palin I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere else.

Even when approaching the speed of light, Sarah Palin knows exactly the location and momentum with which she is traveling.

Sarah Palin Rumors debunked

Sour Grapes from Anne Kilkenney

This lady is entitled to her opinion, but why did she leave out the most important part…the shenanigans Sarah pulled to become starting point guard in Wasilla!

This is my favorite little known fact about Sarah Palin

The 2008 GOP Convention

The 2008 convention was the most sloppy, unorganized convention I’ve ever seen.

Joe Lieberman was a disaster.  I guess to make Sarah look good by comparison?

I felt bad for Mitt Romney for trying to throw out a low of red meat.  He looked desperate out there.

Mike Huckabee has killer charm on the pulpit podium.  When Sarah mentioned that “Some politicians use ‘change’ to promote their careers, and some leaders, like John McCain use their careers to promote change.”  He mouthed, “That’s a good line”.  This was almost as cute as when Piper licked Trig’s hair.

Guiliani was the perfect warm-up for Palin.  When he shrugged and laughed at Obama’s community organizing, I think he summed up the first impression of millions of Americans.

Michael Steele is quite a capable “official Barack Obama Criticizer”.

Rudy and more importantly Sarah Palin salvaged an otherwise dreary and unorganized convention.  The media is besides themselves because every attempt to malign Palin’s record only highlights Obama’s thin resume.

Is Lindsay Graham the Clay Aiken of the Republican Party, or what?

Tom Ridge is the warm-up?  Yikes.  My wife kept asking ‘Where is Condoleeza Rice’…I think she has a girl crush on Condi.

Mac delivers his speech rather badly, I think.  It may not be his fault, it seems his lung capacity is low, so he pauses a lot, and everyone foolishly applauses every pause.  The Big Mac’s timing is bad and he’s shaken a lot worse than W was in 2004 by the protestors.  W could give a good speech, but he’s horrible in debates.  With McCain, he’s horrible at these speeches but rather good in debates, at least in the ones I’ve seen against GOP contenders.

The backdrop is a nightmare.

Obama’s style and strategy seems a lot like a W from the left…raise a lot of money, run a tight ship.  He orchestrated an audacious convention but couldn’t overcome the party crashing of the Clintons.  W’s 2004 convention was airtight. In spite of itself, the GOP convention was a winner for them because Obama is so hindered by the Clintons.

Democrat Tax Policy

Here is a pearl from Fred Thompson’s speech at the RNC.  With regard to Democrat’s Tax Policy and promises:

“Now our opponents tell you not to worry about their tax increases.

They tell you they are not going to tax your family. No, they’re just going to tax “businesses”! So unless you buy something from a “business”, like groceries or clothes or gasoline … or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small “business”, don’t worry … it’s not going to affect you.”

Al Gore, rockstar

So they did schedule Al Gore for tonight, they just didn’t show the schedule until today.  He just may get my vote in 2012.

Some poor hapless soul named ‘Barney Smith’ says”We need a president that puts Barney Smith ahead of Smith Barney“.  The whole crowd was yelling “Barney, Barney, Barney”  Priceless, killer line.  Remember, it was the democratic legislature that passed a bank bailout over W’s weak veto threat.

Hillary, once again in Bills penumbra

Bill’s speech was head and shoulders better than Hillary Clintons last night.  Hillary gave a laundry list of boring complaints, with only obligatory nods to Barack Obama.

Bill was much more thematic and tight, and less about the HillBilly legacy than Hillary’s speech.

The best line of the speech was that, “Around the world, people are more impressed by the power of our example, rather than the example of our power.”  Like David Brooks, I think Vladimir Putin doesn’t keep himself up at night thinking about the American example.

Bill Clinton gave the best speech thus far of this lackluster convention.

John Kerry is speaking now.  All of the speeches seem rushed, everyone is tripping over their lines.

Deval Patrick’s speech

On the whole this convention has been fairly tepid.  Perhaps we have a generation public speakers that can only speak in sound bites.  Interestingly, Deval Patrick is the son of Laurdine Patrick, sax and bass player for Sun Ra for forty years.  I have a feeling Deval shares his fathers opinion on nuclear war.  Anyway he’s right to say that it takes one generation to go from poor to rich.  A nice, refreshing lack of race mongering for the convention.  That doesn’t mean he is a good governor or that Barack Obama should be president.

Schweitzer is the anti-Clinton.  Brief and awesome.  Bolo ties for everyone in the house!

Hillary’s two songs in her video.  Sanjaya’s “You Really got me” ( A dig at Hillary’s earlier Sanjaya reference)

Lenny Kravitz “Are you going to go my way” (I.E. will you throw your support behind Obama?  Make ‘em count those delegates, girl!)

Tom Petty’s “American Girl”

Oh, this is fun.

Michelle Obama’s speech.

It wasn’t so bad. One may note that the pearls were absent last night. She cuts a striking figure and she learned a lot from Barack. It was heart warming to hear Michelle talk about how her dad worked so hard for the city so she could go to college. It was a soft sell of the point Bill Cosby has pointed out, that dads need to support their families. I was reminded, though, of Chris Rock’s infamous act.

There is a double standard here.  If McCain talks about how his dad was an admiral in the Navy, his critics will use that against him, as if he had a priveleged life.  Mr Robinson was a responsible dad and a good role model for fathers black or white…I don’t know how that makes Barack Obama any more or less qualified to be president.

Is fracking hideous.  He looks pretty scary at the Democratic convention.  By the way, Howard Dean is kind of Master of Ceremonies tonight and that could explain why he isn’t speaking.

Update:  A lot of people seem to curious about this.  No news or blogs picked up on this.  It is probably an autoimmune disease.  Although it is quite possible he got pink eye from when Hugo Chavez farted on his pillow.
