Terror-linked group applauds Bush announcement
President appoints envoy to Organization of the Islamic Conference
The Council on American-Islamic Relations – recently linked to a plot to fund the terrorist group Hamas – said it welcomed an announcement yesterday by President Bush to name a special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the international body of 57 Muslim-majority nations.
Bush made the announcement at an event marking the 50th anniversary of the Islamic Center of Washington, the mosque he visited after the 9/11 terror attacks.
As WND reported earlier this month, federal prosecutors named CAIR, along with two other prominent U.S. Islamic groups, as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a plot with five officials of the defunct Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, who go on trial July 16 in Dallas.
Bush explained yesterday the special envoy “will listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states and will share with them America’s views and values.”

New Hamas rule means real changes,’ missionaries to be ‘dealt with harshly’
JERUSALEM – Christians can continue living safely in the Gaza Strip only if they accept Islamic law, including a ban on alcohol and on women roaming publicly without proper head coverings, an Islamist militant leader in Gaza told WND in an exclusive interview.
The militant leader said Christians in Gaza who engage in “missionary activity” will be “dealt with harshly.”
The threats come two days after a church and Christian school in Gaza was attacked following the seizure of power in the territory by the Hamas terror group.
“I expect our Christian neighbors to understand the new Hamas rule means real changes. They must be ready for Islamic rule if they want to live in peace in Gaza,” said Sheik Abu Saqer….”
